A beacon of hope and excellence shaping the future of the Caribbean nation.
The British Virgin Islands (BVI) is a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean Sea. The BVI Ports Authority, an agency responsible for border and customs protection in the British Virgin Islands, underwent a rebranding process. The rebranding aimed to modernize and update the agency's image, which included the creation of a new visual identity.
The updated branding conveys the BVI Ports Authority's commitment to efficient and reliable services to the local community and visitors to the islands. The rebranding process reflects the agency's dedication to excellence, professionalism, and innovation.
The rebranding is part of the organization’s strategy to evolve its business and create a foundation for new opportunities, according to a press release.
The organization underwent a strategic restructuring early this year to better leverage its business; it updated its cargo and cruise booking system to allow for real-time bookings; it recently implemented a new pandemic plan to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain, a new contactless payment service was recently offered to enhance customer services; and it is actively exploring new lines of business such as technical calls and warm layups.
The result of our endeavors is a comprehensive suite of brand elements, featuring a brand new logo, a compelling slogan, and an invigorated visual identity.
Central to this transformation is the anchor, a symbol lauded by the Honourable Andrew A. Fahie, Premier and Minister of Finance of the British Virgin Islands. He articulates, "It is a symbol of hope, lifting from the water of a port, signifying a new adventure or journey. An anchor is raised when we enter a new era, akin to a ship setting sail."
This revitalized branding signifies a new era for the BVI Ports Authority, poised to welcome nearly a million tourists annually. Noteworthy aspects of my involvement in this project include:
• Crafting a cohesive brand identity with a wide array of branding elements.
• Designing a versatile range of marketing collateral tailored for digital and print mediums, ensuring maximum impact and reach including banners, billboards, social media content, and more.
• Spearheading the redesign of branded BVI Ports Authority uniforms, crew shirts, hats, and other merchandise.
The result is a visually compelling and strategically positioned brand that not only aligns with the agency's vision but also elevates its profile as a beacon of excellence in the Caribbean.
